Australia gets Enduro X series in 2014

Australia is set to enjoy a three-round Enduro X series next year, with promoters RBP Promotions taking the smart decision to run the championship over just a four-week period. The reason for the compact championship? The hope that international racers will journey to Oz and compete in the February 2 – March 2 championship…
After the 2013 Enduro-X event at Calder Park Raceway in Melbourne, the organisers have been overwhelmed by the support they’ve received from the motorcycle industry, the riders and the public, to take this exiting spectator sport to a national level. “After two successful events in Melbourne and industry support growing, it was the logical next step to take the event to a semi-national series,” said Promoter, Dave Robbins. “Our sponsors have supported us; the riders enjoy the concept and the spectators like being up close to the action. With good venues and facilities close to capital cities it allows for greater crowd interaction, both on the track and in the open pit area.
KTM Australia’s Jeff Leisk has thrown his full support behind the series. “We are delighted to be involved in this exciting concept of motorcycle racing in Australia,” said Leisk. “The sport’s growth in such a short time in Australia has been amazing.”
