BELLINO FASTEST, NAMBO IN TROUBLE
The EWC GP of Portugal super test was one of pleasure for Mathias Bellino but pain for Christophe Nambotin
For the second week in a row, Mathias Bellino blitzed his way around the super test to set the outright fastest time on his Husqvarna.
Making light work of the endurocross styled tests, Bellino topped the standings to take a slender lead in the Enduro 3 ranks.
But the bigger story to emerge from the 90-second loop was that of Christophe Nambotin.
The defending champion took a small but awkward crash, hurting an already troubled knee.
It was immediately clear some damage had been done as the KTM rider cruised around the remainder of the lap and then limped back to the paddock.
Properly aggravating ligament damage sustained at the GP of Chile, it’s as yet unclear if Nambotin will be able to take the start of day one.
He’s made of pretty stern stuff so we’re guessing he should but if not will really shake things up big style in Enduro1.
Let’s see what tomorrow will bring…
