Is this what KTM’s 2017 EXC and XC models will look like?
Ok, so you’ll have to imagine they’d have lights, a kick stand and handguards fitted, but in unveiling their 2015 US SX and MX Factory Edition machines KTM have offered a glimpse of what their woods models may well look like a few years from now.

Lighter and smaller is pretty much the primary message KTM is communicating with the information issued with these images of their fine looking race bikes – bikes designed with supercross very much in mind. Seemingly no parts used in the building of their Factory Edition 250f or 450f bikes haven’t been modified, lightened, tweaked, changed or shrunk.

According to KTM the bikes indeed do have numerous changes over the standard models, both visually and within the set-up of the machines. The Factory Edition models’ main features revolve around enhanced mass centralisation, overall weight reduction and improved performance with various engine and chassis revisions. A limited number are available to purchase in the USA!

These are the ‘Factory Edition’ models, so it’s to be expected that not everything will roll over into the production of the 2016 SX machines, and later down the line their woods bikes. But styling and bodywork is one area of the bikes that’s almost certain to get used. Here’s hoping.
