David Knight wins The Tough One the hard way. In what was a carnage filled race at Hawkstone Park, David Knight recovered from a multitude of problems to secure the win.
Getting past early race leader Jonny Walker on lap two, Knight then ran into trouble when he crashed heavily due to rope tangled in his rear wheel. Losing over five minutes, the Sherco rider set a charge that saw him reel Walker back in.
From outside the top five, he fought his way into the lead as the race passed the two-hour mark. Pushing on he crossed the finish line as the clear and deserving winner to secure a record breaking sixth The Tough One win.
Walker – unable to match Knight’s pace – finished as runner-up while Alfredo Gomez completed the podium.
Graham Jarvis – who started outside the top ten – found his way up to third but eventually finished fourth.
Constantly battling for a top five result, Paul Bolton was fifth while Andreas Lettenbichler ended his race in sixth.
