Gas Gas TX Randonné 200

Gas Gas TX Randonné 200
Gas Gas has expanded its family for 2014 with the new TX Randonné 200
In 2011 Gas Gas launched the TX 125 Randonné, which by its own accounts, was well received as an easy and versatile little bike – in many ways a perfect bike to get started in the off-road world. The TX Randonné 200 comes on the same bandwagon with the trademark strong and reliable, yet soft and easy to live with engine and riding characteristics.

The concept for the Randonné 200 is exactly the same as the 125 and it walks straight into the fun trail bike market: the hybrid of Trials and Enduro machines, which have increased in popularity in recent years. Gas Gas is pitching it straight in at the ‘fun for everyone’ level with reliability, low fuel consumption and low maintenance.

By the way Randonné (or Randonnée in French) translates roughly into ‘hiking’ in English so you can see where they’re coming from.

What’s new about the new TX Randonné 200 compared to the 125? The biggest change to the eye is the updated graphics, which make it look distinctly Gas Gas in those red and black colours.

The new engine is the big change and naturally has increased power and torque to help get over obstacles. The same comfortable riding position hasn’t changed in the chassis, which has slight upgrades to suspension and brakes. Ollé 40mm diameter front forks have improved with new settings, as has the rear, making it more adjustable to enjoy the bike in any situation.

Other changes to the new 200 include tweaks to the subframe and sump guard, a new front hub for easy mounting and removal.

There’s also a new, smaller and multifunction digital dash from Trailtech. The electrical system has also undergone a complete renovation.
