Last weekend started the German Endurocross series, called enduroXcup. Paul Bolton won the first round. His main competition were young German racers Benny Menzel, Robert Scharl, Jan Peters and German FMX Legend Busty Wolter. Those riders are going to fight for the championship all season long.

On Saturday the Holeshot went to Jens Hurlebaus who rode a solid race to a forth place finish. After a couple of laps Bolton grabbed the lead and won the race in a dominant fashion. Robert Scharl got second in front of Benny Menzel, who rode a good race to finish third. Showman Busty Wolter rode his test bike, a Yamaha YZ 250 two-stroke to a top five result.

The second day of racing saw the same guys up front. Robert Scharl grabbed the holeshot, but a problem with the first obstacle set him back right away. After the first straightaway Bolton was out front and rode a perfect race to the second victory.

With two wins Bolton was crowned King of Indoor EnduroX. Jan Peters got second. Benny Menzel finished third and on the podium again. After the first lap mistake Robert Scharl fought back to a fourth place finish.

Busty Wolter raced a KTM Freeride 250 to a solid seventh place finish. The riders had a good time and enjoyed the races. Unfortunately Jens Hurlebaus crashed on the last lap of the final. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the bike soon.

The next stop of the EnduroXcup is in Werl on May 17.
