
KTM Motorcycles and Husqvarna Motorcycles have announced a global recall on specific models from the 2015 model year.
The issue affects around 750 models from the UK and Ireland.
Due to a supplier production fault, it is now necessary to check the torque setting of a nut between the fork’s piston rod and screw cap, within the 4CS fork chamber.
This check can be carried out by authorised KTM and Husqvarna dealers only. It takes about 25 minutes and is completely free of charge.
The fault generally occurs in the first few operating hours and is identified by a knocking sound from within the fork. In addition to this, the damping in the affected strut decreases.
The recall action affects the following models:

Customers who have taken delivery of a motorcycle affected by the recall will be contacted in writing by KTM UK and Husqvarna Motorcycles.
Customers can check if their motorcycle is affected by contacting their local authorised KTM and Husqvarna dealer and quoting the last 6 digits of their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).
Customers can also check online to find out if their motorcycle is affected. The recall information is available in the “Service” area of www.ktm.com or www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com and can be seen by entering the complete (17 digit) VIN and the motorcycle’s Delivery Certificate number, which is located on the upper right corner of their Delivery Certificate.
