Alex Salvini has claimed a narrow margin of victory at round one of the Italian Enduro Championship in Alassio.
The defending champion held off KTM’s Simone Albergoni by four seconds to take the win with Husqvarna’s Thomas Oldrati completing the top three.
Salvini also won the first test of the X-Polediffusion.com Cup – the trophy up for grabs from the e-commerce website will crown the best pilot in the extreme test for the Italian Championship.
With Salvini topping the outright classification, he also won the Enduro 2 category. Albergoni took first in the Enduro 3 category while Oldrati was fastest in the Enduro 1 class.
Ensuring his first official outing on with KTM was a successful one, Matt Philips won the Foreigners class ahead of Danny McCanney.
Despite fastest in the opening special test, Beta’s Johnny Aubert ended his day early with a mechanical issue.
