WHY JONNY WALKER IS FASTER THAN MAX NAGL!

Extreme enduro specialist Jonny Walker runs 25.62 km to beat the majority of off-road stars in the second edition of the Wings For Life World Run.

In this year’s second edition, this unique event saw thousands of athletes setting off simultaneously from 35 different locations all-over the world for a global race.

Among 101,280 registered runners Walker and MXGP championship leader Max Nagl competed in this unique global event where they started their runs at exactly the same time but on different places on the earth.

Jonny managed to clock a mighty 25.65km – he’s clearly training hard for Erzberg – to run 5km clear of Max.

And they were not the only ones we know of that participated.

At the top of our off-road pile, five-time Dakar winner Cyril Despres ran 31.01km to finish in the 2632^nd place.

In Madrid, Spain Alfredo Gomez, Adam Raga, Jordi Viladoms, Joan Barreda and Jonathan Barragan all gathered to start the run.

Barreda was fastest of the bunch with 20km. Alfredo needs a bit of work to do to catch Walker having clocked 12.10km.

Johnny Aubert and Antoine Meo ran their race in the north of France, while Toby Price was competing with them but in Melbourne Australia.

But the results are merely bragging rights among mates as the purpose of the race is for a far greater cause.

The Wings For Life World Run is a fantastic fund-raising event, aiming at raising money to help research in finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

For the second time in a row, the race was won by Austria’s Ketema Lemawork, who ran an incredible 79.90km to become the last man to be stopped by the catcher car worldwide.
