Can Walker win Sea to Sky?
2013 has been a pretty tough season for Jonny Walker – winner of the 2013 ErzbergRodeo. Blighted by injuries and illness, it’s only now, as the 2013 Hard Enduro season draws to a close, that he’s finally back to full fitness.

Twice runner-up at the Red Bull Sea to Sky event, Jonny’s looking to make it third time lucky in Kemer this year. Up against tough competition – Graham Jarvis, Andreas Lettenbichler, Dougie Lampkin, and more – Walker knows victory won’t be easy.

But recent form suggests the KTM rider is capable of doing that, and challenging the king of Hard Enduro – Mr Jarvis – for the Se to Sky win. Although Jarvis, the two-time winner in Turkey, starts as favourite, might we see someone other than the Husaberg team rider stood on the top step of the podium come Sunday night?

Jonny Walker certainly hopes so…

“I’m really looking forward to returning to the Red Bull Sea to Sky event this year – it’s one of my favourite events. After my bad luck of missing out on a podium result at the Red Bull Romaniacs I worked hard over the summer break to be ready for this race. Sea to Sky is different from other Hard Enduro races in that its shorter, more intense, and requires a lot of explosive speed – it’s a flat out race right from the beach until the top of the mountain.

“I concentrated a lot on improving my speed by racing time card enduros. In the British Enduro Championship I initially struggled to break inside the top five but by the end it I was battling for the win. Taking in the final round of the EWC also helped my confidence. Proving that I had the raw speed to fight for a top ten place in extremely difficult conditions meant a lot – I hope to transfer that across to the Red Bull Sea to Sky this weekend. This is the last big Hard Enduro event of 2013 and I want to end it in the best possible way – I want to win.”
