Cervantes On Top At Spanish Championship

Returning to action after a four-month summer break, the second half of the Spanish Enduro Championship got underway in Puig Reig. Picking up where he left off at the previous round in Antas, KTM’s Ivan Cervantes parked himself at the head of the standings.

Challenged early on by Frenchman Fabien Planet, Cervantes steadily picked up his pace during the second half of the day to claim a 14-second margin of victory.

Hanging on to the runner-up result by the skin of his teeth, Planet fended off a late charge by Cristobal Guerrero (KTM) to take second. Finishing third – but just six tenths of a second behind Planet – Guerrero completed the podium.

Joakim Ljunggren (Husaberg) and Mario Roman (Husaberg) rounded out the top five.

Manxman Danny McCanney (Gas Gas) ended his day 12th overall and third in the Enduro 3 class.
