CH Racing Sherco Factory Team?

CH Racing Sherco Factory Team?
Enduro21.com has learned that CH Racing – the former Husqvarna factory team – will be back in the Enduro World Championship in 2014. Although CH Racing has issued no official statement, Enduro21 believes that Fabrizio Azzalin’s squad will run a Sherco team, with direct factory backing.

At this stage there are more questions to be asked than there are answers but it seems that Azzalin’s team will work with Sherco next season, but beyond that it’s anyone’s guess as to the level of involvement the French/Spanish manufacturer will have with the Italian team.

One thing that seems unlikely is that CH Racing – if they continue to call themselves such as CH stands for Cagiva Husqvarna – will become the ‘official’ Sherco team for 2014, due simply to the fact that neither party has worked together before and have had only a few months to finalise plans for the coming season. But if 2014 goes to plan, who knows what the future might bring.

But if what we’re hearing is true then Matti Seistola will be Sherco mounted in 2014, in either Enduro 1 or Enduro 2. Lorenzo Santolino might well also ‘stay’ with CH Racing having signed with Sherco before the final round of the 2013 EWC series.

That leaves Fabien Planet and Jeremy Tarroux, who might join the Italian team or remain on the French run Sherco squad.

One other thing worth remembering is that CH Racing are more than simply a race shop. At their Varese base they have a small but well equipped R&D facility and experienced staff, something that would undoubtedly be of interest to Sherco.

More when we have it…
