Chris Birch Wins Nutbuster Hard Enduro 2013

In a show of complete domination and class, New Zealand’s international Hard Enduro rider Chris Birch took the win at round one of the 2014 KTM NZ Extreme Enduro Series, The Value Cars Nutbuster Hard Enduro.
Birch, aboard his KTM 350 took the lead early in the first lap and never looked back as he stormed his way around the tight and technical track tucked away in the foot hills of the great southern alps in New Zealand’s South Island.
Birch’s closest rival came in the form of multi time New Zealand and Australian trials champion Jake Whitaker, who is now mounted aboard a Husaberg FE250.

Whitaker tried his level best to chase down Birch but after a clutch problem – resulting in an emergency pit stop – he was unable to challenge the multi time Roof of Africa winner.
In third position was NZ Army strong man Phil Cheater on his KTM 300EXC who rode a hard fought race to claim the final podium position.
Perhaps one of the big heroes of the day was Christchurch’s Michael Larson who completed one whole lap of the pro track aboard a Suzuki TF185 farm bike. Much to the amusement of the spectators and riders alike!
The New Zealand KTM Extreme Enduro Series continues with round two at Riverhead 100 on Sunday, November 17.
