The Erzbergrodeo is a beast of an event. The biggest race of the year on the Hard Enduro calendar comes with some mind-blowing facts and figures. Here’s a few you ought to know…

160 – Total weight – in kg – of all the start numbers that will be handed out to racers. That’s a whole lot of stickers!

31 – This year 31 women competitors will take on the Iron Giant.

24 – For the 20th edition of the Red Bull Hare Scramble event organisers have stretched out the course from 20 to 24 checkpoints.

1800 – The number of competitors who will take to the start line for Friday and Saturday’s Prologue. Only 500 will qualify for Sunday’s Red Bull Hare Scramble and only a fraction of those will finish!

221 – The number of competitors Japan’s Taichi Tanaka overtook in 2010. After starting on the fifth row he finished an incredible 13th.

632 – The number of 300 two-stroke bikes competing in the Erzbergrodeo 2014. Long live the two-smoker!

51 – A record 51 riders crossed the finish line in 1999. It’s steadily increased in difficulty since then!

7 – The lowest number of finishers ever recorded at the Red Bull Hare Scramble. The year? 2012

50,000 – Litres of beer expected to be consumed in the beer tent during the 20th edition of the Erzbergrodeo festival.


1,029 – KTM rule the roost in manufacture presence at the Erzbergrodeo.

2 – USA’s Kyle Redmond will compete on the Chrisitini All-Wheel Drive enduro bike.

12000 – Live TV coverage of the Red Bull Hare Scramble will be brought to you by a whopping 12,000m of fibre optic cable!

4 – Four hours to complete the 30km plus long Red Bull Hare Scramble. Sounds easy, right!
