Double delight for Honda’s Alex Salvini at rounds four and five of the Italian Enduro Championship in Bobbio…

Salvini continued his winning ways with a double victory at rounds four and five of the Italian Enduro Championship. Escaping the torrential rain that covered much of central Europe, the 144 riders entered at Bobbio were greeted with warm, sunny weather.

Day One

On day one the battle for the overall classification was fought out between Salvini and KTM’s Oscar Balletti. After a close race it was Salvini who eventually secured the top honours when Balletti crashed heavily on the final enduro test and was forced to retire. Thomas Oldrati (Husberg) and Juha Salminen (Husqvarna) took advantage of Balletti’s sudden absence to finish second and third respectively.

In E1 2T Rudy Moroni (KTM) claimed the win ahead of Riccardo Crippa (Yamaha) with Nicolò Bruschi (Yamaha) in third.

For the fourth time this year Oldrati topped the Enduro 1 class, beating Simone Albergoni (Honda) by almost one-minute. Third step of the podium went to Maurizio Micheluz (Suzuki). In the E2 with the victory of Salvini and the withdrawal of Balletti, second place went to Nicholas Mori (Beta). Beconi Andrea (Yamaha) completed the top three.

Deny Philippaerts (Beta) and Manuel Monni (KTM) fought for the Enduro 3 win with Philippaerts beating Monni by more than 18 seconds. The third place went to Gianluca Martini.

In the Foreigners class it was a good day for Juha Salminen (Husqvarna), who won ahead of Eero Remes (TM Racing) with Matthew Phillips (Husqvarna CH Racing) in third.
