Jarvis & Husaberg Dominate Wildwood Extreme

In what has been his last official race for Husaberg, Graham Jarvis made it a memorable one by dominating the Wildwood Extreme Enduro in Australia.

And with Alfredo Gomez and Mitch Harper completing the podium the Husaberg era was closed on a high.

Returning to the event for the first time since 2011, Jarvis was intent on securing his second victory in the event, which also marked his final ride with Husaberg. But with teammate Alfredo Gomez snatching pole position in the qualification prologue it was clear he wasn’t going to have an easy ride.

Suffering the worst possible start in the three-hour main event, Jarvis was on the back foot as Gomez cleared off into the lead. Carving his way through the pack, the Brit reeled in and passed the Spaniard on the seventh lap.

Once out front he continued to extend his lead and eventually win the race by almost six minutes.

Mitch Harper took third

With Gomez forced to settle for third, it was a returned from injury Mitch Harper that completed a 1-2-3 for Husaberg. Harper – who’s been out of action since breaking his back during a training crash in Sweden earlier this year – proved he’s getting back up to speed in his first ride with Husaberg.

After a difficult qualification the 21-year steadily worked his way through the field. Ending lap two in 13th position he kept fighting to eventually cross the line in third position.

Continuing their ‘world tour’ Jarvis move’s on to next week’s Roof of Africa where he’ll make his debut ride with Husqvarna while Gomez will start his first race with Husqvarna at the opening round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in Liverpool.

Busy times…
