My Ride – David Knight’s Sherco 300 SEF-R

Second overall in the point’s standings, David Knight and his Sherco 300 SEF-R have been going great guns in the 2014 SuperEnduro World Championship. With two wins from four starts he’s proved more than a match for most.

Between the GPs of Brazil and Mexico Enduro21 pulled out the camera and snapped a few photos of the Manxman’s French built machine.

Running the 300cc fuel injected four-stroke engine, the little Sherco has acquitted itself well in pulling Knight around a SuperEnduro course. Suspension wise, Knight runs factory spec a WP Trax shock on the rear and 52mm WP Cone Valve forks up front – personalised to his 101 riding number.

A dual ignition mapping and switch on his Renthal twinwall handlebars allows him to change settings on the fly and he runs an Apico starting device to aid with starts.

Gearing varies depending on the track layout but it’s generally two teeth more than standard on the rear while Goldentyre provide the rubber.

The team run a sump guard, aluminium Enduro Engineering rear disc guard and RaceTech hand guards to keep everything protected.
