Nambotin Out Of The ISDE

Enduro 3 World Champion Christophe Nambotin has been forced to withdraw from the ISDE due to injury.
Still hurting from the effects of his huge crash during last weekend’s GP of France, Nambotin underwent a thorough medical examination on his hand. Although escaping without any broken bones, tests show that he has ruptured a ligament in his thumb.
With surgery scheduled today – Monday 16th September – the KTM rider has no option but to skip this year’s race in Sardinia.
Commenting on the injury, Nambotin remarked…
“After my fall on Sunday during the GP of France we found no fracture. However, on Thursday I went for further tests and it turns out I’ve ruptured a ligament in my thumb.
“I have to have surgery on Monday and unfortunately rules out my participation in the ISDE.”
Nambotin – the outright winner of the ISDE in 2012 – has a number of potential replacements. On the short list to replace Nambotin in Sardinia are Nicolas Deparrois, Fabien Planet and Julien Gauthier.
