Powerband Racing GT Cup, Round 4 Wroxton
Perfect weather was on the menu for the 4th round of the GT Cup held at the fast and flowing circuit of Wroxton. The circuit was well prepared and well watered for racing to commence on Saturday morning.Frankie Cutmore, the teams 65cc rider put together some solid rides against a fast group of riders to end the weekend 9th overall. In the SW85 class team rider & championship leader Tom Grimshaw qualified 1st, however in race 1 Tom made a mistake under a waved yellow flag where Tom clashed with a fellow rider which resulted in a 1 minute penalty issued by the stewards. This then handed the championship lead to Tom’s team mate Christopher Mills.Tom responded by winning the next four races to help reduce the points gap to give him 3rd Overall & 2nd in the championship, Christopher also rode a very good consistent weekend to win the overall and secure the championship point lead.In the BW85 Class George Grigg Pettitt put in some good rides and rode really well amongst the most competitive class. George didn’t get the best of starts and worked his way through the pack to finish 10th overall. Harry Cutmore rode well over the weekend to finish inside the top 30. Powerband Racings next event is the British Youth Nationals at Culham Moto Park 8th & 9th June
