REMEMBER, REMEMBER THE 17th OF NOVEMBER!

The countdown to round one of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship at Liverpool’s Echo Arena has begun…
Just three months now remain until the opening round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship arrives at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on November 17. Signalling the official start of the pre-event countdown to the first world championship enduro event to be held in the UK since 2008, promoters MotoGB are pleased to announce that much of the preliminary organisational duties have successfully been completed. The team are now focusing their attentions on ensuring the event will be both a memorable and enjoyable afternoon out for all involved.
Selecting Liverpool’s Echo Arena as the venue to host the opening round of the 2014 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship due to it’s central location, first class facilities, and friendly and enthusiastic staff, MotoGB will, in time, construct a purpose built track for the SuperEnduro season opener – one that will include a variety of tried-and-tested Endurocross obstacles to ensure close and explosive racing.
David Knight and Jonny Walker are just two of the top British riders expected to take the fight for victory to defending FIM SuperEnduro World Champion Taddy Blazusiak. Not since 2010, when a round of the FIM Indoor Enduro Cup was staged in Sheffield, have Britain’s best enduro racers been offered the chance to compete on home soil. But on November 17 Knight, Walker, Jane Daniels, 2013 Junior SuperEnduro World Champion Danny McCanney, and more British riders, will start their bids to become SuperEnduro World Champion, while enjoying the full support of their home crowd.
Playing host to round one of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, the Echo Arena is hard at work preparing for an afternoon of unforgettable, action-packed, off-road motorcycle action. With the worlds best enduro riders descending on the arena for the season opener, the stadium will ensure a modern and memorable location for the high profile event.
Adding to the afternoon’s spectacle, Liverpool will also feature a world exclusive race. With pedal power replacing engines, some of the best mountain bike riders in the business will compete for victory in the SuperEnduro Racing event – a unique cycle race that will blend existing cycle formats and see competitors race on a unique indoor track.
Completing the family fun filled afternoon, the Strider SuperEnduro race will allow the youngest family members to follow in their hero’s footsteps. Using Balance Bikes, children will have the opportunity to try SuperEnduro for themselves on a purpose built course.
Tickets for the SuperEnduro Grand Prix are now on sale by visiting the Echo Arena website www.echoarena.com or by calling their Box Office number 0844 8000 400.
Bob Page – Media Relations, MotoGB: “Bringing the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship to the UK is something the MotoGB team are extremely proud of. It is going to be a fantastic event, delivering a great afternoon’s entertainment suitable for the whole family. It’s a format that will allow British riders to excel in their home country. The fact that the UK is to host the opening round of the SuperEnduro series is also significant. We’re ensured the best possible riders, which ensures the highest possible quality racing”
“Many months of planning, meetings, and extensive preparation, have brought us to this key point in the build up to the first round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. November 17th might sound like a long time from now, but previous experience with international sports events tells us that things will move very fast from here on in”
“The Echo Arena in Liverpool is a superb venue, offering first class facilities in a vibrant city with a picturesque waterfront location. We are 100 per cent certain it is the place to host the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in the UK. Adding other unique forms of cycle racing to the event schedule gives us what we are calling the SuperEnduro Grand Prix Race Day. Over the next few weeks, more information will be released about the event…”
