Sagar & Rowland Crowned European Champions

Brits Tom Sagar and Jack Rowland have been crowned European Enduro Champions (FIME) at the final round of the series in Portugal.

Entering the fourth and final round of the season in Ourem, Portugal with a slender two-point advantage over his nearest rival in the Enduro 2 class, Sagar held his nerve to claim the title. With day one of three a wet affair, Sagar got his championship aspirations off to a perfect start by winning the opening day. Placing third on day’s two and three, the KTM rider did more than enough to clinch the title.

Ending his season on a high with victory in day three’s motocross race, Welshman Jamie Lewis (Honda) secured third overall in the E2 championship standings.

With a two-point lead in the Enduro 1 Junior category, Husqvarna’s Jack Rowland faced a nervous weekend of competition in Portugal. Getting his title hopes off to a strong start, Rowland ended day one in second. But on day two, Rowland made a costly mistake when he checked into a time control early. Although second on special test times, the Brit dropped back to fifth. With everything still to play for, Rowland placed third on the final motocross and was crowned the 2013 FIME E1J Champion.
