TOBY PRICE ON THE PIPE IN MOROCCO

Give it up for the Aussie! Toby Price is having a right good go at the Rally of Morocco.
In what is his first real taste of rally racing, Price placed an incredibly impressive third overall on yesterday’s stage four.
Keeping on the right track for the 200km plus stage, Price finished just over one minute behind stage winner Marc Coma…
“Today was a good day today – improving a lot on my road book reading but still relying on the tracks a little.
“It’s just hard to take your eyes off the track. But 80% of the time I have the right track so that’s a good sign.”

But it’s not been all plain sailing for Pricey. Stage three was a bit of a nightmare when a broken tail light shorted out his road book leaving him with no map to follow.
A missed waypoint incurred a 20-minute penalty, dropping him outside of the top ten to 12th. But taking by it on the chin he knows that it’s all part of the learning curve…
“If something stops working, stop and fix it! Going through the special my rear tail light broke off. The wires shorted the power to the map reader somehow and I rode most of the day until the fuel stop without a map.
“I panicked not wanting to get lost and missed a waypoint and got a penalty of 20 minutes added to my overall time. It’s all a learning curve but without that I would of finished 7th for the day.”
Keep it up Toby and crack on!
