Tom Grimshaw – Hardcore Racing and Michelin: RedBull Pro Nationals Round 4

The RedBull team rolled up to the beautiful seaside resort of Whitby for round 4 of the Redbull Pro Nationals. The scene was set for some great racing which started out with timed qualification. Tom posted a solid fourth position in his time session, just 1.2 seconds off pole, so racing would be tight.
Moto 1; Great start running in second place for the first few laps before dropping to 3rd place, then the racing really became a nail bitter as Tom tried to defend 3rd place against the championship leader Charlie Cole. Both boys exchange places several times but unfortunately Tom had to settle for fourth place at the flag.
Moto 2; Tom stalled the bike on the start line which meant he was dead last going into the 1st corner, however by the end of lap one Tom manage to haul himself into 10th place and then by end of lap 2 was in 6th place with the leaders in front of him, however disaster struck when the sub-frame top bolts fell out resulting in the whole rear section of the bike dropping on to the rear wheel. Tom pulled in for some quick repairs and was able to re-join the race which netted him 7 valuable points.
Moto 3; Bad luck again struck Tom at the start, when two other riders clashed and fell in to Tom coming out the start gate. This meant that Tom went into the 1st corner near last, Tom then battled all the way back to 5th place at the flag nearly snatching 4th. Great racing!!
Moto 4; Great start running in 4th place for the first part of lap one until the championship leader fell in front of Tom stopping his progress. Tom lost several places due to this and set about catching back those places. Tom rode brilliantly and was able to catch back to a fantastic 3rd place at the flag. Tom started the weekend in 2nd place in the championship, however after Moto 2 disappointment Tom has come away from round 4 in 3rd place. There are lots of points still to play for, with three rounds remaining!
