X Games World Series Scaled Back For 2014

ESPN have announced that the X Games world tour will be scaled back to two events for 2014.
After running a successful world series for both winter and summer action sports, ESPN have decided to host only two events next year.
One will be in Aspen, Colorado, January 23-26, for winter sports while Austin, Texas, May 15-18, will host the summer event for the first time.
Initially the world series – that was introduced in 2013 – was intended to of a three-year plan but economic sustainability forced a rethink.
“We are proud to have run world-class competitions for both the athletes and spectators; however the overall economics of these events do not provide a sustainable future path,” ESPN said in a statement.
2014 will be the 19th year of X Games.
